Wigstöckel 2011

“Create and enjoy yourself, it's Wigstöckel!” From 1 to 3 October 2011 the 15th Wigstöckel Festival unites trans*people, transvestites, kings, queens, all kinds of queers and anyone who likes to join for a unique event. The Festival is a fundraiser for trans* and queer projects.

Saturday, October 1, 9pm, SO36

The Event As usual Wigstöckel 2011 is going to burst the limits of traditional notions of gender, and to create space for exchange, information, glamour, politics, lots of pink and fun in heels. How that works, Ladies and Gentleladies? Get the glitter started, come and find out! Saturday night Wigstöckel presents a glamourous show of international performances at SO36, followed by a not any less glamourous party. Booths inform about the work of various trans* and queer organisations.

Moritz G. and Viola present a sparkling Wigstöckel show at SO36, featuring artists from the Kingdom of Tonga (Joleen Mataele), Edingburgh (Nathan Gale) and of course Berlin stars: Dragzhaufen, Hedi Mohr and the little mermaids, Kay P. Rinha & Nicopatra Berlin, Die Damen von Del_F64.0, Pedro Costa, Kaey, born naked, Sookee, Miss Pünktchen, Rattenchor, NDB + Band feat. David Bowie, Trudi Padma zu Knusprig & Rosebutt.

Afterwards the DJ_anes m_phase, transmission and cisnita rock the dancefloor for the party.

7 pm: Open Stage - Be a Star!

Here, you can meet the hungover flirts from last nights party as well as performers, new talents or even try yourself being on stage.

Would you like to perform at Wigstöckel but not on the 'big' stage at SO36 so far, then we have another possibility: Wigstöckel's Open Stage. Be there until 6pm to register for the evening. But you can even send us a mail if you know that you want to be on stage and if there is some equipment required to email

Monday, October 3, TrIQ

19 Uhr: Finissage der Ausstellung Proudly African & Transgender

Since September 8, the exhibition Proudly African & Transgender by artist Gabrielle La Roux is presented at TransInterQueer e.V. It consists of portraits and stories of ten transgender African activists. On this night, the exhibition is closed with a film, talk and wine reception. Guest Speaker Witnes Booysen (Gender Dynamix, South Africa) will talk about transgender in South Africa. Language of the talk: English
